Designer Emulation Kits

My Role:
The Designer Emulation Kits (DEKs) were created at mmckenna LLC as tributes to some of the great industrial designers and the iconic lamps they designed. In essence, the DEKs were fun little snap-together silhouettes of famous lamps that, when assembled and connected to a 9-volt battery, lit up.
While at mmckenna, I contributed to the design, modeling, rendering and production of DEKs 1-4 which are better known as Ingo Maurer’s Lucellino, Achille Castiglioni’s Arco, Richard Sapper’s Tizio, and Archille Castiglioni’s Toio respectively. One of the highlights to working on the DEKs, in addition to seeing them being sold in the MOMA store and boutiques all over the US and Canada, was getting my name in tiny letters in Surface magazine.
