Academy is a new digital media lab initiative by Urban Arts Partnership funded by a grant from Peapod Adobe Youth Voices. Urban Arts Partnership’s new media lab will offer advanced filmmaking, music, design, theater, and playwriting programs to New York City high school students.

I co-designed Academy’s logo with Armando Somoza. We based the logo’s concept on Academy’s programs mentoring students in three areas of their lives: academic, artistic, and community citizenship. Starting out as overlapping circles representing the student and the three areas of development, the logo evolved into a moving figure where the student (blue) is set in motion by their growth in these three aspects of their lives.
